Kawasaki

A leading manufacturer of aircraft and aircraft engines, Kawasaki Aircraft Industries was one of Japan's first aircraft companies formed in 1918.

Originally involved in making aircraft for the imperial Japanese Army Air Force, Kawasaki now is in the commercial aviation business involved in joint international development and production of large passenger aircraft.

The popular utility BK117 helicopter was developed by both Kawasaki and MBB (Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm) of West Germany (currently AHD or Airbus Helicopters Deutschland GmbH). In 1982, the two-engine, multipurpose, high-performance helicopter was type approved as the first domestically manufactured helicopter. Designed for a wide range of applications including transport of humans and goods, rescue, patrol and emergency medical services, the helicopter has been delivered to many operators globally.
