MU2 Maintenance For Westpac Air Ambulance

As of December last year our team in Hamilton have secured the maintenance contract for the Westpac Air Ambulance and are thrilled to be working on the only two Mitsubishi MU2s in the country. And with the Air Ambulance having such an important job to do, this is one aircraft our team will be very proud to see back in the air and back to work.

Operated by the Philips Search & Rescue Trust founded in 1985 to provide the public with air health and rescue services, the Air Ambulance offers 24/7 support across the entire country. The trust now operate three fixed-wing aircraft and the largest search and rescue helicopter fleet in the North Island.

The Mitsubishi MU2 is one of the most successful aircraft to come out of Japan with its high wings, twin-engines, and wide performance envelope. This turboprop comes with a pressurized and spacious cabin that could fit eleven people.

For search and rescue operations the MU2s spacious cabin allows for equipment, two stretchers and a medical crew of four in addition to the two pilots. The Air Ambulance is equipped with an electron loading system, the latest medical equipment, and modern avionics suite. Certified to 31,000 feet of altitude, the MU2 can accommodate patients to any location in New Zealand without stopping.

We are proud to be doing our part in keeping the Westpac Air Ambulance airborne.
